Cannonballing right into the deep end of the pool with this one… or maybe it’s more like a belly flop? Either way, this Asheville Wedding Photographer is making a splash… one that’s sure to leave a mark. I broke my North Carolina Farm wedding up into 3 parts. Primarily due to the insane amount of good times captured over 3 incredible days in the hills of NC.
I decided to take a different approach on this one. I figured I’d show what you can expect when you hire me to come out and rock a wedding and book full coverage. This goes beyond your typical “6-hour coverage” … This is us hanging out for a weekend [as friends do] … only this friend has a camera in hand, a killer eye, and keen instinct for timing… and that last thing that can’t be taught. Timing is intuitive, I shoot from the heart. I thrive in the moment… landing all the moments in between and the stuff that cant be repeated.
As we drove in through green fields on the way to “The Farm”, I was glued to the window taking in every piece of the scenery. Shooting pics of cemeteries, rolling hills, green fields, dilapidated barns, nestled within leaves that were beginning to change colors. I was in awe. It felt foreign and new. We jumped off the highway, there it was. An old farmhouse sits prominently upfront of the 50+ acre property. A pond, barn, fields, and trees go back almost infinitely as the sounds of nature surround.
The day was all about relaxing with fam and friends. We gassed up the quads, loaded up the guns, put some bait on hooks and quenched our thirst with tasty beverages!
Good times were had soaking up the sun. We caught fish and a buzz and as the day came to a close, we cleaned up proper and went out for a few more drinks + amazing food. Days like this set the tone for an unforgettable weekend. I absolutely love meeting up with friends n fam before the wedding and hangin out as part of the crew grabbing real moments.
Annnnnnnnnd of course, an after-party after the party. I took a lot more shots inside but in order to kill any redundancy I limited it to a “cheers! + a few shots from the dance-off against the brick wall outside as we wandered through the streets. The night is young and so are we. We sing in the streets under spotlights. Laughter echoes through alleyways in the night. Tomorrow might hurt a little, but at this point seems so far away.
I absolutely love being a destination wedding photographer and traveling to places I’ve never been with a camera in hand. We’ve been traveling the U.S. the past couple of years, so I’ve been taking on very select weddings. However… now that we’ve rooted down in Burnsville, NC… its time we get crackin and jump into the North Carolina Wedding scene.
